Wye Island Electric Boat Marathon 2012

Calling all electric boat enthusiasts!

If you have an electric boat, or can make one that can go 4 mph or more over 24 miles of Chesapeake Bay, come on down to the Eleventh Annual Wye Island Marathon and try it out on a great course. Here is the information on the upcoming marathon:

Monohull Record: 3 hrs. 11 minutes 21 seconds. Set by Denny Wolfe in 25' "Sparky" launch, October 5, 2007. 7.47 mph.

Multi-Hull Record: 2 hrs. 42 min. 00 sec. Set by Paul Kydd in a 25XL Stillwater Coaching Launch, October 2008. 8.82 mph.

Hybrid Record: 4 hrs. 9 min. Set by Richard Ball in a 19.5' Harry Bryan designed Handi-Billy skiff using a battery/biodiesel generator combination, October 2003. 5.74 mph.
